From Central London to the Yorkshire Dales

After twenty or more years spent running a busy design agency in Central London, I moved my family from Canterbury to the beautiful spa town of Harrogate, where I enjoy painting and photography and discovering as much of my surroundings as possible.

Many of my pieces are inspired from Yorkshire landscapes, particularly in the Yorkshire Dales.

I remember my first visit to the picturesque village of Kettlewell in the Dales. As we travelled along the Bolton Abbey route trailing the River Wharfe I realised that the landscape was iconic and breath-taking. During the return journey home, dramatic rain clouds appeared from the west and the whole landscape was bathed in a magical blue light, the same dramatic light transformations that have excited so many artists and photographers. My inspiration has not ceased and I still gasp at the county’s wonderful natural beauty.”

With some subjects I enjoy the experience in creating a metamorphosis of an image, from digital photograph to a piece of fine art.
